RISE Is a great example of community development and efforts to build a resilient, trusted and accessible network of learning opportunity for rural Alberta. Bow Valley College would be pleased to continue utilizing the RISE Network to support and align with needs of rural learners, increase access to post-secondary opportunities and strengthen cross-generational learning through technology

‘Artists’ Gardens: Nature Inspiring Art’ from the Royal Botanical Gardens

Artists’ creations are inspired by a variety of things including the natural world and gardens, both public and private. Join Karin as she takes you on a journey exploring various well-known artists. You'll see how familiar artists such as Claude Monet and Frida Kahlo reflected the nature around them in their works. Explore contemporary installation artists' work that shape nature like Andy Goldsworthy and outsider artists like Howard Finster's Paradise Garden as well as Isaiah Zagar who spent years beautifying vacant lots into Magic Gardens. Learn how their art was influenced by both the cultivated and wild nature that surrounded them.
