Learn About Pulses: Legumes, Beans & Peas
Presenters: Dr. Parthiba BalasubramanianDr. Syama Chatterton

Pulse crops are a vital component of agriculture in the Prairies and here in Southern Alberta they are gaining in popularity for a variety of reasons. Learn from two Lethbridge scientists how a pulse variety is developed and what diseases challenge the crop’s growth and tools used to manage them. Research contributes to growing pulse crops that are profitable for farmers, provide benefits to the soil, our health and the environment. They are so important that the United Nations has declared 2016 the International Year of Pulses.
