Pioneer Christmas with Charles Ingalls

Join Charles Ingalls live from The Sheffield Museum of Rural Life in Ontario, to learn about pioneer Christmas traditions!

Charles will discuss Christmas in pioneer times in comparison to modern times, and he will tell an exciting story from his own life. He will also use his fiddle to lead the students in singing some Christmas songs and will teach them some pioneer dancing with live music.

Patrons will: 

  • meet a character from the past
  • hear an exciting story
  • participate in a traditional dance

It's never to early to start thinking about holiday programming! Connect in to the "North Pole" where Santa has agreed to take some time from his busy December schedule to read A Pirate’s Night Before Christmas to your patrons.

It's never to early to start thinking about holiday programming! Connect in to the "North Pole" where Santa has agreed to take some time from his busy December schedule to read A Pirate’s Night Before Christmas to your patrons. Santa will also teach students about geography as he talks about his plans for Christmas Eve. As part of the program, students will be able to complete a passport for Santa so they can remember all of his stops.
